Top- Thrifted dress

Skirt- Handmade

Cardigan, Shoes- Target

Just a simple outfit for a simple day. This dress is uber tiny, so I have been wanting to try it under a skirt for a while.

I got an amazing guitar for my birthday from Sean and I have been trying my hardest to learn how to play it. I also got a Nirvana bass tabs book that I have yet to really dig my teeth into. I really feel as though I should be concentrating solely on those two tasks, but I just love blogging. I never thought that I would. But I just find it so fun documenting my outfits, and life, online. It’s hard to tear myself away now that I’ve gotten started!

I took about 15 pictures of me jumping before I could decide on that one. Jumping pictures are a tricky thing. They are hard to get right, but I feel like if you do, they can be magic! P.S. Can my hair be like that all the time please?

It really does feel great to be in a place that actually has seasons. Summer may be hot, but so far it’s been worth it for Fall!

I have decided to make some changes here. I figure that I am young enough to the blogging world to still get away with a total re-vamp. The rest of the week will continue with the same ol’ format. Hopefully next week will welcome the changes.

This is an outfit that I would have worn every day of high school if I would have known to. I got the tights under the cut offs from a Vice Magazine Do’s and Don’ts. I saved the picture for a long time, but have since misplaced it the wonders of my computer.

I am trying to embrace my inner cowboy here in Tennessee. I tried a scarf even, it was just too warm in the sun. A beautiful 70*. I could hardly get myself to do anything of value, it was just too nice out! I had the Ferris Bueller syndrome.

Can’t wait to get the new changes going. If only I knew how to work Dreamweaver…. at all.

I have been having the biggest problem with dresses lately. I mentioned yesterday that I always forget about that brown dress. It’s the same with this one. I never wear them, or even think about them, and so when I’m trying to find something to wear, I always think that I have no dresses to wear. I really only have a few. I need to invest in some more. I can only wear the same four so often!

This dress has the the sweetest bow accents. Unfortunately, while trying to iron out the waist, I melted the front bow almost all the off. What was I doing? Not paying attention is what. This dress really fits me perfectly. All of the measurements are spot on!

I originally bought this dress for our friends wedding. I didn’t end up wearing it to the actual wedding. But it’s a great one to have in the closet.

Belt, Shoes- Target

Tights- Walmart

This is my official day after my birthday get up. Not quite hung over, just tired. I also picked my dad and grandparents up from the airport this night! They came in for the long weekend to visit and see Nashville. My dad is a huge country music guy, so he thought he’d died and gone to heaven.

I always forget how flattering this dress is. I look at it hanging in my closet, and think that it’s going to make me boxy and thick, and I’m always pleasantly surprised when it doesn’t. When will I learn my lesson and wear it more often?

This belt was one of my birthday presents from Sean! I have been wanting it forever! For some reason, I always found something else in my visits to Target that I chose over this. I am so happy to finally have it though. It really is perfect. A perfect fit and a perfect style for just about anything. And with fall in full swing, it’s the perfect colors.

I hope all of you are enjoying the great fall weather as much as I am! I wish it could just stay like this forever. Maybe I should move to Flaggstaff?

P.S. Sorry for no Film Friday. The family being in town was kind of hectic. But I’m back on track now!

Dress- Anthropologie

Cardigan- Target

Shoes- Madewell

This is the official birthday outfit.

I got this dress from Anthroplogie years ago. I originally got it for Christmas and have rarely worn it since. I love it so much. It’s a little tight in the ribs, and the ribbing digs in if I sit too long. I think that it just needs to be re-shaped. I feel like that would do it.

I managed to not get a single picture besides this one from yesterday.

I have to say though, that of all the pictures I could have gotten, this is a pretty good one. There is a bar in Nashville, a little, dingy, hole in the wall called The Villager Tavern, that gives you a free dog bowl full of beer on your birthday. It literally was a dog bowl. Another girl came in for her birthday, and had to wait on me to finish. I made the mistake of eating a big dinner before hand, and almost popped out of my dress trying to stuff all of that beer into my belly. It was well worth it though. I had a great time! This is about the third bar I’ve ever been to. Were not really the going out type.

I love the back of this dress. It has a great deep v.

I ended up in the cardigan all day. It is finally fall and I’m loving it! I wish that this weather could last all year long. I would be in heaven!

It’s my birthday today!

Since I am so ahead of myself on my outfits, this is not exactly what I am wearing on my birthday. But I do have my birthday hat on!

IMG_3544-2

IMG_3546-2

Also, not from my birthday. My mom actually got it for me about a year ago. She saw it and said that it immediately reminded her of me. I think it’s a pretty fitting birthday hat though.

P.S. Sorry for the whole same cardigan two days in a row thing. I promise not to make it three. Hehe.

Dress- H.M.S. Pinafore from Modcloth

Cardigan- Target

Shoes- Madewell

I just can’t get enough of this pinafore! I see it in my closet and want to put it on every day. I have to force myself not to. These shoes are beginning to be the same way.

I think that I like this outfit more than I liked the other way I styled it.  And not only did I get to wear it again. I got to dress it up for fall. I was never one of those that agreed with the no white after labor day thing. I think that fall is the perfect time for white! The juxtaposition of white against all the fall colors is great. It makes me sad that it so often gets thrown out of rotation.

IMG_3521-2

IMG_3523-2

I think that my new favorite color combo is mustard and blue. I made a skirt with those colors a little while ago, and have loved them together ever since.

Over the summer, I had an average of three bug bites at any given time. I wondered why I kept getting bit, when Sean never got one. I learned that mosquitoes are more attracted to blue than any other color. And if you’ve read my blog in the past, you’ll know that blue is one color that I can’t get enough of. Good thing it’s no longer bug season. Now I can get my blue on and not worry. I don’t know what I’m going to do next summer. At least I’ve got a while.

Today I got my Tennessee drivers license. I am officially a Tennessee resident. I almost failed my vision test (I forgot my glasses)! But everything else went smoothly. Except… they had to take my California license! Not only am I officially a Tennessee resident, but I’m no longer a Ca resident. Oh, goodness. It’s for real!

Dress- some shop in Laguna Beach

Vest- H&M

Yes! I’m finally one day ahead on outfit photos! I feel so accomplished. Now I can relax about when I take my photos and can always manage to post early in the day. As long as I have internet that is.

I tried to fit in at least one more summer outfit before fall comes crashing down on me. I’m not much of a summer/ hot weather person, so these outfits are always a bit difficult for me to put together. This dress could be considered my first alteration ever! It was a maxi, and I cut it to make it the length it is now. Of course, now with all the maxi hype, I’m kind of regretting that. But I definitely got more use out of it the way it is now than I ever would have with it long.

Vests baffle me. I love them. I wish I could wear them more often. They don’t agree. Enough said.

IMG_3511-2

To sash or not to sash. That was the ultimate question here. I ended up with the “not to”. I always feel as though an ill placed sash can ruin you. I’d rather be a bit plain that over compensated. Would you agree?
