History Hump #9

This one is going to be weird. Just saying.

I recently watched Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, and have subsequently become obsessed. I also got Home Alone 2 for Christmas. How are these related you might ask? Kieran Culkin. This got me thinking about the Culkin clan. And how I have been slightly into them for some time now. Talent runs in the Culkin family. As a society we have known them for over 20 years. They are part of my life history!

Not what you expected from History Hump? Me neither. Lets see if I can pull this off without seeming like too big of a creep-o.

Lets see. There are three Culkins who act. Obviously you know Macaulay. Kieran is the middle-child actor, and Rory is the youngest.

The first appearance of a Culkin happened in 1985. Macaulay played “Halloween Kid” in The Midnight Hour a tv movie.

The first movie I remember seeing him in was Uncle Buck from 1989.

Home Alone, undoubtedly his most famous role, came out in 1990.

With a string of other good and not so good things happening since then.

My favorite? Saved

Kieran Culkin made his debut in 1990. Playing his brother’s movie cousin Fuller in Home Alone.

Next was Only the Lonely in 1991. And Father of the Bride that same year.

Most recently, he was in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (2010).

And has three movies in the works currently.

My favorite? Scott Pilgrim

Rory Culkin, the youngest of the famous Culkins, started out being the movie brother to his real brother in a picture for the movie The Good Son in 1993. (That made sense right?)

Then he was “Young Richie” in 1994’s Richie Rich.

He finally broke out into his own part without his brothers in You Can Count On Me in 2000.

My favorite? Signs

There are seven children total. These three are the most well known. In my attempt to not seem too creepy. I’m not going to cyber stalk the others. I simply find it amazing how many times the Culkins have found their way into my life. Since before I was born they were making an impact. And they are still around till this day. Here’s to another great year of the Culkins!

I totally didn't realize it was him that was in Uncle Buck. Weird... hahaha. I wondered what happened to him! He's certainly changed, that's for sure. Thanks for sharing!
