Blinded by the Night

Well that was a nice vacation. Portland was fun. The wedding was super fun. And seeing all of Sean’s friends was the funnest.

I did shop a bit and fond a great vintage one piece. I was so taken by the style that I went shopping today and bought two more. One is too small, so it may turn out as bathing suit.

Unfortunately, after taking all of our trio photos on my point and shoot, I realized that I have no way of transferring them to my computer. So until I remedy that…

In to the Woods

Well, I’m going out of town for the weekend. For a friends wedding. In Portland, Oregon. Hence, the woods. So, in honor of the wedding season, I am going to share some pictures that I took for a coworkers wedding a while back.

In from the wild

My original pictures were mostly deemed unusable from a horrid amount shadow and farmer tans. I won’t even bother with them. Other than to say that I am very worried about the fact that I have been walking around like this all day…. uh oh. I’ll live.

So, instead. You get me, in my natural habitat. After coming in from the sweltering So. Cal. heat, my kitties were just waiting for me to love them. Although they are mostly camera shy. I forced them. I’m not proud, but I did it.

I’m afraid he would live in that hat if I let him.

The outfit is nothing you haven’t seen before. But like I said, with the heat comes my loss of creativity.

Skirt- stolen from a friend and altered

Top- from my cousin

Belt- Urban Outfitters

Cats- from my old roommates car.

As this blog goes on, I see myself moving farther away from the traditional outfit photos, and to more of an artistic take. Not that I did a great job with these. But they are closer to what you will be seeing. I realize that I have done two posts in my bed in the last couple weeks. This is not a trend, just a form of convenience. We’ll see what comes to be in the near future.

I sure do love those cats of mine.

Long days and pleasant nights.

I know what your thinking. Again?! So soon?! But I just couldn’t help myself. It is so hot out, and I was dying to style this the way that Erin at Calivintage did. Although, my scarf is not nearly big or long enough to venture very far like this. But for laying around the house after work, watering plants and playing with my kitties, it’s perfect. And I have to say, it sure did it’s job cooling me down. I like this so much more with the scarf instead of a shirt underneath. It’s much less Alice in Wonderland, and much more chic. I love it! I just have to get a proper scarf to wear underneath as to not risk a flash.

Let me take a moment to say thank you to the people who are regularly reading my blog. I don’t even have double digit followers, but I am just so excited to have any! Especially when they are people that I don’t know. Ha! Thanks again for taking time out of your day to read what I have to say. Especially since it’s usually non-sense. I appreciate your support and your eyes.

I promise that next time I’ll have something new for your eyes. But I’ll warn you now, I was never good at dressing for summer. So we’ll see how this goes. I can guarantee that I will be dressing as much like Hannah as possible.

Long days and pleasant nights.

Last night I went to a bar for the fourth time in my life. And I didn’t even get a drink. I’m so fun! The band who’s record Sean is mixing, The Trmrs, played at The Continental Room. We went to support them, then took off. Drinks for $8 each are just too much for me. I’m on a budget.

Partially, because I have decided to go back to school. Again. This time to get my Associates. I’m planning on getting it in photography. But I change my mind all too often, so we’ll see. But I think that this might actually stick, since this is the second time I have decided on photography. I really like taking pictures. But I need some direction and a place to print them. Digital is convenient, but it’s just not as pretty. Or as fun. So it’ll be nice to have a dark room at my disposal.

These jeans are the best things I own. I love them! They are super comfy and stretchy. And I don’t have to worry about any unfortunate views from the backside. Which is always a worry when you are so inclined as I am. I decided to show one of my more versatile get ups. I actually wore this to the Continental last night. We live about two blocks from there, so we walked. We could both use the exercise! And downtown Fullerton is known for harsh cops that are even harsher on drunk driving. I have heard of people who have called cabs to get home that are just in the vicinity of their cars getting DUIs. With no intention on driving home. That is why we walked. And why we don’t go out. That, and the fact that booze is much cheaper at the store then drank at home. I think that all of you over 21 will agree with that.

I’m watching ‘Kill Your Idols’. I’m about 3 minutes in. It’s pretty good so far. Just finished watching the first episode of ‘Bevis and Butthead’. That was ridiculous! In the best way possible I mean.

Long days and pleasant nights.

Find Of The Week

I want to tell all of you about an amazing blog called ‘The Bright Side Project’.

(click picture to go to website)

Their Mission:

“The Bright Side Project is here to bring you sunshine every day with themed, daily giveaways. We hope to inspire you to stop for a second and remember life is (still) beautiful and there is goodness in the world.”

Basically it is amazing. They give away one great prize a day. Some are single items, some are prize packs. For example, today’s giveaway is a vintage scalloped fabric garland. Last week, one of the giveaways was a whole pack from Ben and Jerry’s.

You have one week to enter to win the prize. In order to enter, you answer the question asked at the bottom of the blog entry. It’s as easy as that! Personally, I can’t help myself but visit the blog everyday. I’m just too excited to see what the giveaway of the day is. And you should too! Or every few days. But definitely check it out. You won’t regret it!

Are You Kidding Me!?!- Kids with iPods

It’s late, but it’s still Friday! So I’m still on time!

This week, I would like to make a special mention of kids with iPods. However, this argument does not exclude adults. Because I have seen them committing this act of rudeness as well.

Not a day goes by that I don’t see some (usually) kid walking through a store, or down the street, or even at Disneyland, with the headphone of an iPod stuck in their ear. I say iPod, because the headphone is almost always white. But I’m not trying to be biased against other mp3 players. They are always with a friend or parent and are usually engaged in conversation. We are living in a time where it is appropriate to be this rude and separated from your company.

I just don’t understand. Why are the parents allowing their children to act like this? But then again, they are the ones who are buying their 11 year old the iPod touch. Years ago, high school kids didn’t have cell phones. Now, elementary school kids have them, and they know how to use them.

Let me give you a scenario: a 15 year old is walking down the street with a friend. Both silent. Both with one ear bud in. Not only are they not talking with each other, but they are not even hearing all of their music. If you don’t know, music is mixed in stereo. Meaning left and right. By taking out one of your headphones, you are literally losing half of your music. So not only are you losing talking to your friend, but can’t even enjoy your music fully!

I don’t even know what to say on this anymore. It’s upsetting and rude, on a personal level, and on a musical one.

Long days and pleasant nights.

Shoes- Seychelles Blimeys

Yes! My very first pair of Seychelles! I love them so much! They are THE most comfortable heels ever! I can’t wait to wear them again. They came in the mail yesterday and I put them on immediately. Unfortunately, I had to go to work, so I couldn’t wear them for very long. I actually got to wear them out today, and I have to say, I was very pleased. On top of being extremely comfortable. They are super easy to walk in. I’ve read it on many other blogs, but it’s hard to grasp until you have actually had them on your feet. They are so worth the money! I just wish I would have been more on top of my game and been able to shop the Seychelles Gilt sale. But, you can’t win every battle.

My favorite thing is buying Top Ramen and soy milk from the 99 cent store. I’m afraid that they are about to run out of soy milk though. My never ending supply of half price West Soy soy milk is almost over. Hopefully they get more in. But in case they don’t, I bought eight. Hey, they’re shelf stable. It can’t hurt.

Watching lots of old cartoons. They are just as good as I remember!

My adorable kitty has made a bed for himself on my sweater. He is so cute when he gets cuddly.

I have been reading tons of blogs lately, and I am so pleased that grunge is such a big topic for fashion. The ever amazing Mary-Kate Olsen is one of the queens of fashionable grunge. She’s one of my new biggest influences. Now if I was only half my size I could dress just like her. Just kidding.

Long days and pleasant nights.

Lacking Posts and Exciting News

Sorry for the lack of posts in the last few days. But I have some exciting news! I bought a car! A brand new Chevy Aveo. It’s a 2010. I love it so much. It is such an upgrade from my 1999 Volkswagon Jetta.

I’m so proud of myself. I bought it all by myself. If you have ever bought a brand new car, then you know what I mean when I say that it is an amazing feeling to drive off the lot for the first time.

Meanwhile, it’s been weird outside. Super hot during the day, and cloudy and cold in the early morning and at night. So I’ve been spending all the time that I’m not working or ogling over my car inside, in my bed.

I’m gunna go ahead and have a real image heavy post since I’ve been slacking so hard in the last few days.

The blanket on my bed (we use it as our comforter when it’s hot out) my grandma made me years ago. I love it. She also made me a horse one of the same style. But this one is my favorite. Supposedly, it has a pin in it somewhere. But that has yet to be determined. It has little girls on it. It’s just heads with different colored dresses with arms and a leg. Sean says they look like something else, something dirty that I wont mention here. But I think that you can guess if you really want to.

The American Psycho pillow is mine, the pink ones are Sean’s. That basically sums us up. A little girl blanket and pink sheets.

I’m currently watching “Kurt and Courtney”, the documentary about Kurt Kobain and Courtney Love. It kind of fingers Courtney as the one who killed Kurt. If not that, then she at least had a part in it. Even Courtney’s dad thinks that she had something to do with Kurt’s death. Crazy.

On the bright side, if you don’t know, Refused, The Shape Of Punk To Come deluxe edition came out yesterday. You can get it at Best Buy or Amazon, or many other outlets I’m sure. I’m getting it. As soon as I stop feeling poor from buying a car.

Long days and pleasant nights.
